Airato Wins the Grand Prize at the 3rd TOHOKU TECH PLANTER Grand Prix!

Airato Inc. (Headquarters: Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture;Co-CEOs: Yuto Kimura and Noriyuki Kadoya), which develops and commercializes AI-based radiation therapy planning support software, has been awarded the Grand Prize at the 3rd TOHOKU TECH PLANTER Grand Prix, held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, and organized by Leave a Nest Co., Ltd. with special co-sponsorship from Mizuho Bank, Ltd.

The event was held as part of TOHOKU TECH PLANTER, a deep-tech platform that focuses on the Tohoku region and aims to connect the area’s abundant natural resources, research achievements, and technological potential with industrial implementation. The program supports passionate teams striving to change the world through science and technology from Tohoku, with the goal of creating role-model startups through collaboration with leading companies and support organizations both within and outside the region.

Award Background

This award recognizes the technical originality and significant social impact of Airato’s AI-powered radiation therapy planning support software, RatoGuide.

RatoGuide incorporates technology that reduces the time required to create a radiation therapy plan from over six hours to approximately 30 minutes using AI, enabling greater standardization and efficiency in radiation therapy.

By simultaneously reducing the workload of medical professionals and improving treatment accuracy, the service aims to contribute to enhancing the overall quality of cancer care.
